Aaron Wilson is an American Texans beat writer and NFL reporter for the Houston Chronicle and covers the Houston Texans. Previously, Wilson was a reporter and beat writer in Baltimore covering the Ravens. Aaron has covered Super Bowl XLVII, the Ray Rice domestic violence case and the careers of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Jonathan Ogden.

Wilson attended the Eastern Carolina University and played football as a linebacker. One day, he got an injury on his shoulder and stopped playing after three seasons and later had surgery on the same shoulder. Since he couldn’t play, he thought sports journalism would be interesting as well which made him join the school newspaper.

Aaron began his career by covering the football team that he played in University. Slowly by slowly he started getting stories from the people regarding recruitment, transfers, or anything that was going on with the team.

At a young age, Wilson got to an opportunity to cover a Division I football team that was going to bowl games which gave him a lot of valuable experience. He used to do coverage of the football teams, the basketball teams and the baseball teams around his area.

From there Aaron worked as an intern for a news journal in Florida where he would cover some Florida State football, minor-league ice hockey, and high school football. He got his first job with a small paper known as “Hernando Today” owned by the Tampa Tribune. While at “Hernando Today” he covered high schools sports, local sports, and the Florida Gators.

Wilson covered an NFL game for the first time with a small paper known as the “St. Augustine Record”, where he covered the Jacksonville Jaguars.

From 2001 to 2015, Wilson became a Baltimore Ravens beat writer where he worked for The Baltimore Sun. He covered Super Bowl XLVII, the Ray Rice domestic violence case and the careers of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Jonathan Ogden. Prior to that, he had covered the team for the Carroll County Times and the Annapolis Capital.

Currently, Aaron is working as a Texans beat writer and NFL reporter for the Houston Chronicle and covers the Houston Texans. He works for one of the largest and best newspapers in the country which he really enjoys.
