Abby Weppler is a Meteorologist at WSBT which is a dual CBS/Fox-affiliated television station located in South Bend, Indiana in the United States of America. She is part of the WSBT 22 First Alert weather team and broadcasts on WSBT 22 News at Midday, WSBT 22 News First at 4 and WSBT 22 News at 5.

The WSBT Meteorologist was heavily pregnant in the year 2011 together with her fellow meteorologist Cari Peugeot. John Haferkamp, the WSBT news director was faced with an unusual problem when the two meteorologists went for maternity leave because they were all due in the same week.
Haferkamp brought on Erik Larson, who was a former intern in the station’s weather department and a Purdue graduate with a meteorology degree. He was trained and later worked as a fill-in meteorologist. Wepler later gave birth successfully to a baby boy.

Prior to joining WSBT 22, she was a weather anchor and co-anchor for four years at WTAP-TV in Parkersburg, West Virginia which covers the Mid-Ohio Valley. Abby has received several honors such including; “best weathercaster” by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association and also being named “best anchor” and “best weathercast” by the Associated Press.
During her time off work, she likes following sports, politics and all the crazy weather that comes with living near Lake Michigan.
