Alan Kozeluh is a skilled visual storyteller journalist who proudly serves at KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the team in April 2018, just in time to partake in the vibrant Fiesta celebrations!

Originally hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Alan’s career journey took an interesting path. Before venturing into the news industry, he immersed himself in a diverse range of jobs, working as an HVAC technician, a portrait photographer, and even a cake decorator.

During his time in school, Alan proved his passion for storytelling and journalism by taking on multiple roles simultaneously. He served as both a reporter and videographer for the campus newspaper while also anchoring and reporting for the campus TV station. His dedication to the craft earned him a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in political science from Northern Illinois University.

To further sharpen his journalistic skills, Alan pursued a Master’s degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois. With his enriched knowledge, he confidently covered legislative politics in two different states.

Alan’s journey in news began as a photojournalist for WMTV Channel 15 in Madison, Wisconsin. During his tenure there, he even had his own segment titled “Where in Wisconsin,” where he delved into various oddities and attractions scattered throughout southern Wisconsin.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Alan is an avid film enthusiast and a self-proclaimed beer snob. During his free time, he enjoys unwinding with his wife, watching Coen brothers movies while savoring a nice malty amber lager. When not in front of the TV, he can be found indulging in karaoke sessions or venturing out with his camera to explore all the fascinating offerings of the Alamo City.
