Alex Margulies is an American journalist from Reno, Nevada, he currently works for News 4 as a sports anchor and reporter since November 2014.
Alex Margulies Biography
Margulies was born in Reno, Nevada, he grew up in Incline Village before moving to Florida as a teenager. In 2009 he graduated from the University of Miami, where he majored in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Administration. He interned for 790 The Ticket in 2006 for less than a year. in 2008 he also interned at Fox Sports Net, where he also stayed for less than a year.
Alex later moved to WPLG Local News 10 in 2009, where he was a sports intern for less than a year. He later that year worked for Outer Banks Daredevils as a broadcaster. For four months that year, he worked for Florida Winter Baseball League as a play-by-play broadcaster and account executive. In 2010 he moved to iBN Sports as a play-by-play broadcaster of high school football in the state of Florida.
He also worked as a play-by-play broadcaster and account executive at Miracle Professional Baseball. In 2012 he worked for PlayOn! Sports as a freelance play-by-play broadcaster in Florida Northern California. Where he worked as a play-by-play broadcaster for the 2012 FHSAA Girls Soccer Championships for the FHSAA Network, as well as for High school football in SF Bay Area for Comcast Xfinity.
He was the director of broadcasting in Modesto Nuts Professional Baseball Club. Where he did a Play-by-play for a complete 140 game season for Modesto Nuts, who were Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. From 2012 to the present he has been wearing different hats so to speak. One is as a fill-in-director and online engineer at Learfield Sports at the University of Nevada. There he was a sideline reporter for football, as well as a Fill-in play-by-play for Nevada Wolf Pack men’s and women’s basketball, and also baseball.
From November 2013 to the present he has been a sports anchor and reporter for KRNV News 4-Reno, a Nevada NBC affiliate. During the same duration, he has also been an Executive Producer at Sinclair Broadcast Group also in Reno.
Alex is a newlywed and the two can often be seen enjoying the outdoors. They love golfing, fishing, skiing, paddle boarding, and camping. All the while, being with their dog Bubba.
