In August 2019, Alexa Ross became a valued member of the NEWS 8 sports department.
Having a strong connection to the Empire State, Alexa previously served as the weekend sports anchor/reporter at WICZ in Binghamton, New York. During her time there, she covered the professional affiliates for the New York Mets and New Jersey Devils, as well as Binghamton University and high school sports.
Originally from Philadelphia, Alexa pursued her education at Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication, where she earned a degree in journalism. While in college, she gained valuable experience working for NBC Sports in Philadelphia.
Additionally, she ventured to South Korea, where she contributed to the live coverage of the 2018 Winter Games.
Being an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Alexa’s enthusiasm extends to her role in NEWS 8’s Bills coverage, where she is excited to bring her passion for professional football to the forefront. Her background and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the sports department.
