ANA TORREA Biography and Career

Originally from the Bay Area, Ana made a significant move from the North Coast to the North State, pursuing her passion for journalism. Her previous role as a Multimedia Journalist and Anchor at KIEM/KVIQ in Eureka allowed her to cover diverse topics such as Humboldt County government, education, health, and the burgeoning cannabis industry.

At the station, she also played a pivotal role in launching and pioneering their first morning show, serving as the Anchor and Producer.

Ana’s academic achievements are impressive, as she graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in 2017. Her degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts, with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism, laid the foundation for her successful career in the media industry.

The journey of Ana’s journalism career started as an intern at The Filipino Channel (TFC), where she gained valuable experience and skills. After her internship, she transitioned into various roles and worked on several of the network’s TV shows. Eager to grow further, she joined KPIX CBS 5 in San Francisco as a Production Assistant and News Writer.

Driven by her passion for connecting with people and telling their stories, Ana finds joy in her work. Beyond reporting, she embraces the pleasures of life by indulging in Netflix shows, exploring new food places, and immersing herself in the town’s culture.

Ana’s dedication to her craft, love for storytelling, and adventurous spirit make her a cherished member of the journalism community. As she continues to explore new horizons in the North State, her commitment to sharing the narratives that matter remains unwavering.
