Becca Habegger, a highly accomplished reporter and a valuable member of the news leadership team at ABC10 in Sacramento, Calif., is no stranger to recognition, having been nominated for an Emmy Award for her exceptional work.

Before joining ABC10, Becca made her mark at WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee, where her reporting talents earned her the title of “Best Reporter of 2016” by the Tennessee Associated Press. Her dedication and journalistic excellence were further acknowledged with multiple awards from the East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists.
Not only was she recognized for her on-air work, but also for her significant community involvement, notably as a “Big” for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, earning her the title of “Outstanding Young Professional” by Young Professionals of Knoxville in 2016.
Throughout her career, Becca has covered a wide range of topics, from reporting on deadly wildfires and the rollout of the legal cannabis industry in California to political developments and K-12 education matters.
Originally hailing from Minnesota, Becca pursued her passion for journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where she graduated with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. She began her professional journey as a reporter at KWWL-TV in eastern Iowa.
Beyond her work as a reporter, Becca enjoys exploring the Sacramento area on foot or by bike, often accompanied by her husband, Frank, and their beloved dog.
She finds fulfillment in actively participating in her community through her engagement with the Junior League of Sacramento. Additionally, being near her extended family in the Bay Area brings her great joy.
