In August 2018, Ben Peck became an invaluable addition to the KMID/KPEJ team, assuming the role of Sports Director.
Before joining the dynamic team in the Permian Basin, Ben showcased his sports reporting talents as a weekend sports anchor/reporter in Lubbock at FOX34.
Throughout his upbringing, Ben had the opportunity to experience various parts of the country, lending a diverse perspective to his work. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he then resided near Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston during his formative years. It was the Windy City sports teams that captured his heart, earning his fandom.
After graduating from Friendswood High School (TX) in 2010, Ben pursued his passion for journalism and finance at Syracuse University, where he majored in broadcast journalism and finance.
As fate would have it, Ben’s realization of his lanky, six-foot frame, and a lack of significant speed and strength led him to pivot his aspirations toward sports journalism. Embracing his talents as a captivating storyteller and sports enthusiast, he embarked on a journey that would lead him to excel as a Sports Director and reporter.
With a dynamic background and a keen eye for sports reporting, Ben Peck brings engaging and insightful sports coverage to the Permian Basin community. His dedication to delivering exceptional sports journalism is evident, making him a trusted source for sports news and updates.
