Bill Press Buyers Remorse

Bill Press—a progressive champion and former chair of the California Democratic Party, a one-time co-host of CNN’s Crossfire, and the popular nationally syndicated radio and television host of The Bill Press Show—reflects back on what for many progressives has been a disappointing presidency and comes to a depressing conclusion: Obama grossly misunderstood the mandate of the enthusiastic crowds that swarmed him on the campaign trail.

Instead of recognizing their burning desire for strong progressive leadership, Obama tried to be a “post-partisan” president. The tragedy of Barack Obama is that, in trying to become the great uniter, he has instead become a grave disappointment.

When will Democrats stand up to Pelosi and Schumer?

Adopted from: mcall.com
Published: 9th January 2019

In his January 5 Room for Debate column, Bill Press questions when Republicans will find someone to stand up to President Trump.

When are Democrats going to find someone to stand up to their bullies, Rep. Pelosi and Sen. Schumer? When is Congress going to work out a compromise to refute these extremists?

The majority of Americans reject the Democrats’ notion that we do not have the right to enforce our immigration laws.

Were Democrats and Republicans not part of the process that passed those laws? If Congress is not going to support enforcement of laws they have passed, why should any of us have to obey any U. S. law?

The majority of Americans reject the Democrats’ notion that we do not have the right to defend our borders against a peaceful invasion.

Why would Congress vote to go to war if an aggressive force attempted to occupy our sovereign territory and seize our property but not defend us if taken by someone who enters illegally to occupy our land and take our property?

When is our Congress going to represent the majority of us and quit catering to these extreme minorities to the detriment of the entire country?
