Bridget Chapman is an American News reporter for CBS 17 who joined the team as a reporter in May 2019.

She previously worked as an investigative reporter for WREG in Memphis, Tennessee where she had joined in July 2016. She has also worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KIMA in Yakima, Washington, and as a news writer at KNSD in San Diego.

Bridget previously worked as the crime and courts reporter for the CBS affiliate in Yakima, Washington, U.S. During her time in the Pacific Northwest, Bridget was awarded by the Society of Professional Journalists for her breaking news coverage of an officer being shot while serving a warrant.

Bridget’s work has led to the cleanup of noncompliant apartment complexes, the shutdown of illegally operating restaurants and support for crime victims.

She graduated magnum cum laude from San Diego State University with a degree in journalism and a minor in English. While in California, Bridget worked as a news writer for NBC San Diego and freelanced for different publications. She is a foodie, animal advocate and coffee lover who enjoys the outdoors — whether that’s relaxing on the beach or hitting the slopes.
