Since the age of third grade, Brittny McGraw knew she wanted to be a journalist, and she has been living her dream ever since!

You can catch Brittny anchoring the 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. newscasts on WSLS 10 during the week, as well as reporting on news that matters to the community. She is thrilled to be in Southwest Virginia, as it brings her closer to her home state of North Carolina, where she is originally from, specifically from Charlotte. She is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Brittny’s journey in the news industry began behind the scenes at NBC News Channel in Charlotte. She then embarked on her on-air career at WCTI-TV in New Bern, N.C., where she took on the role of a weekend anchor and reporter.

From the sunny beaches of North Carolina, Brittny ventured to WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio, where she traded in her sandals for snow boots. During her time at Channel 7, she wore multiple hats, serving as a weekend anchor, reporter, and even stepping in on the sports desk.

Her hard work and dedication were recognized when she received an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy, and her work was also honored by the Ohio Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists.

After leaving Dayton, Brittny made her mark at WPXI in Pittsburgh, where she anchored weekend morning newscasts and reported during the week.

Being an active member of the community is important to her, and she served as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, as well as volunteering with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s “Open Your Heart to a Senior” program, providing support to seniors in the area.

Additionally, she served on the boards of Providence Connections, an organization dedicated to strengthening and supporting families, and Holy Family Foundation. Brittny also remains an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Through her journalism career and community involvement, Brittny showcases her passion for informing and serving the public while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
