Her fascination with weather was sparked during a meaningful volunteer experience in Alabama following the devastating tornado outbreak of 2011. Witnessing the profound impact severe weather can have on people’s lives, Brooke developed a strong passion for increasing warning time and keeping communities safe.
To pursue this passion, she attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she earned her B.S. in Meteorology.
After graduating, Brooke embarked on her professional journey as the weekend meteorologist at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama. During her time there, she covered numerous severe weather events, including the harrowing Hurricane Michael on October 10, 2018.
Brooke’s dedication to her viewers led her to be on location in Port Saint Joe, Florida, during landfall, where she spent days after the storm sharing the stories of the affected people in Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach with her audience in Alabama.
Prior to joining the WEAR-TV weather team, Brooke was a valued member of the WJHG/WECP weather team in Panama City, serving as the WECP meteorologist.
Beyond her professional life, Brooke finds joy in exploring different nature trails, indulging in kayaking adventures, and embarking on exciting journeys with her canine companion Nado, whose name fittingly pays homage to her meteorological roots.
