Brya became a valued member of the WRBL NEWS 3 News team in October of 2018, taking on the roles of anchor and reporter. Prior to joining WRBL, she honed her skills as a digital content producer and specialist for WBRC FOX 6 NEWS in Birmingham, Alabama.

Having pursued her passion for journalism, Brya earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the esteemed University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her time at the university, she was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and held significant leadership roles, serving as the president of the Broadcast Education Association and Treasurer of the UAB chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Additionally, Brya contributed to the campus television station, Blazer TV.

As a proud Blazer alumna, Brya is thrilled to give back and mentor aspiring journalists from her alma mater. Even before graduating from college, she displayed her versatile talents as a traffic personality for Summit Media in Birmingham. There, she recorded news and traffic segments for multiple stations, providing a glimpse of her future in broadcast television.

Brya’s vibrant and entertaining energy has always been evident, making her a standout in any room. When she’s not busy with her journalistic endeavors, she enjoys activities that bring joy to her life, such as skating, spending quality time with her extensive family, and exploring new destinations through her travels.
