Hailing from Racine, Burke initiated his broadcasting journey while still in college and has been a prominent figure in Green Bay since 1995. He has been a witness to some of the most memorable moments in sports history, including covering the Packers’ triumphant Super Bowl 31 victory in New Orleans, their tough loss in Super Bowl 32 in San Diego, and their epic win over Pittsburgh in Super Bowl 45.
Burke’s passion for sports and dedication to the community led him to create and host High School Sports Xtra, a pioneering show in Northeast Wisconsin that garnered widespread acclaim. His outstanding work has earned him numerous reporting and anchoring accolades. Since arriving in Titletown, he has covered prestigious golf majors, thrilling Final Four events, and exhilarating playoff runs with the Bucks and Brewers.
As the host of Sunday Sports Xtra since 1999, Burke has become a familiar face in the sports scene. Besides anchoring regular newscasts, he has also hosted several acclaimed shows, including “The 5th Quarter,” “Inside Lambeau,” “Green and Gold Gameday Live,” and “LockerRoom,” with an exclusive focus on the Green Bay Packers.
Burke is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he captained the football team during his senior year. He was a four-time letterman for the Titans and earned the prestigious title of UWO’s 1995 Sportscaster of the Year.
In his personal life, Burke resides in Green Bay with his three children, and his commitment to the local community continues to shine through his work and dedication to the world of sports broadcasting.
