Byron Tollefson became part of the KTTC team in July 2019, taking on the role of Morning Anchor.

Although Boston has always been his hometown, Byron has a special family connection to Minnesota, as his father grew up in the Minneapolis area.

Byron’s passion for journalism led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism at Syracuse University, where he graduated in May 2019. During his time at SU, he gained valuable experience as a reporter for CitrusTV, covering a range of topics from local stories to national elections as a political correspondent.

In the Spring of 2018, Byron had the opportunity to intern for NBC Nightly News in Los Angeles, where he worked alongside national correspondents and producers, contributing to research, writing, and field production.

Continuing his journey in the world of media, he spent a summer interning at NBC10 Boston. During this time, he honed his skills in writing stories for broadcast, conducting interviews on assignment, and supporting photographers in the field.

Now happily calling Rochester home, Byron enjoys his free time engaging in various activities such as running, playing basketball, and indulging in his love for sports. With his strong dedication to journalism and his connection to the community, Byron Tollefson continues to be a valued member of the KTTC team.
