Callan became a valuable member of KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in April 2018, bringing with her a wealth of experience in journalism. Prior to joining the team, she served as the weekend evening anchor and a reporter at WIVB in Buffalo, NY.

Before that, she held positions as an anchor-reporter at WCYB in the Tri-Cities TN/VA and as a freelance reporter for WBNG in Binghamton, NY. Her journey in news began at WAER, the NPR affiliate in Syracuse, NY, where she honed her skills as a reporter, producer, and host. Additionally, she gained valuable experience through internships at stations in Albany, NY, and Philadelphia.

During her time in Buffalo, Callan had the opportunity to cover several impactful stories, including the massive search for two escaped inmates in Upstate NY in 2015. Her dedication to reporting earned her two NY Emmy Award nominations, and she was also recognized by The Associated Press for her outstanding coverage of tornados that hit the Tri-Cities in 2014 while working at WCYB.

Hailing from Upstate New York, Callan’s passion for journalism and the natural world led her to graduate magma cum laude from Syracuse University, where she earned dual degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Earth Science. She further expanded her knowledge by minoring in the Music Industry.

Beyond her work in the newsroom, Callan finds joy in exploring the outdoors, cooking, downhill skiing, and engaging in yoga and running activities. As she settles into the Twin Cities, she is excited to immerse herself in the community and continue telling impactful stories that resonate with the audience.
