Candace Campos has recently become a valued member of the News 6 team, assuming the role of Weekend Morning Meteorologist and Reporter in Central Florida.
Her journey to Central Florida began in Eugene, Oregon, where she served as the Chief Meteorologist for the CBS Affiliate, KVAL. Prior to her time out West, Candace kickstarted her meteorology career at WSVN-7 in Miami, where she dedicated over 5 years as the weather producer. Being born and raised in South Florida, she was thrilled to return to the Sunshine State. Candace’s passion for meteorology ignited at a young age, sparked by her personal experience with Hurricane Andrew. Since then, she has been committed to informing, educating, and empowering her viewers about all aspects of weather.
Candace is a proud alumna of Florida International University, where she achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology with high honors, graduating magna cum laude, and earning a prestigious induction into the Phi Beta Kappa arts and science honor society. Her dedication and expertise in meteorology have been recognized with the NWA seal, and she is an active member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
In her leisure time, Candace enjoys engaging in various events and outdoor activities, expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, baking delectable homemade treats, and indulging in TV binge-watching sessions with her husband and Maltese companion, Bella.
