Jenna DeAngelis, a highly acclaimed journalist, joined CBS New York in March 2018 as a general assignment reporter, adding to her already impressive list of accomplishments, including an Emmy award.
Throughout her career, Jenna has covered a wide range of topics, from the pressing issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic to breaking news and captivating feature stories. She consistently seeks to push the boundaries of her storytelling, even to great heights—literally. In an exceptional display of dedication, Jenna scaled the George Washington Bridge to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Before becoming part of WCBS, Jenna honed her skills as a reporter at stations in Hartford, Connecticut, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her experience extends beyond writing and reporting, as she is also proficient in shooting and editing her own stories. Jenna has showcased her versatility by working as a traffic reporter, news anchor, and investigative journalist.
Her career is marked by notable achievements, including an investigation into a police detective accused of mishandling 88 cases, impacting the criminal records of over 120 individuals. She also embarked on a series focusing on a Connecticut-based group that exposed dozens of alleged predators targeting children online. Furthermore, Jenna provided on-the-ground coverage of the 2015 South Carolina flooding and extensively covered local campaigns during the 2016 presidential race.
Jenna’s journalism journey began on the assignment desk of CBS television station KYW-TV, where she contributed to coverage of significant events such as the Penn State sex abuse scandal and Hurricane Sandy, with a specific focus on Philadelphia and New Jersey news.
Having graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in TV production and broadcasting/journalism, Jenna’s early career involved internships at KYW in Philadelphia, as well as News 12 Long Island and Fox 29.
Proud of her Long Island roots, Jenna cherishes the fact that her parents still reside there. She deeply values spending quality time with her husband, family, including her two sisters, friends, and her beloved dog, Cooper. In her leisure time, she indulges in her favorite hobbies, such as traveling, attending concerts, exploring the diverse cuisine of the Tri-State area, and relishing the experience of being back in her home state.
