Justin Logan Biography and Career Life

Last Updated on 3 weeks by Admin

Justin Logan, a dedicated meteorologist, hails from Paris, Ky., near Lexington, where his lifelong passion for weather was ignited by a tornado outbreak he experienced during his elementary school days. Since that moment, he knew he wanted to become a broadcast meteorologist, driven by the desire to keep people safe during severe weather events.

Justin pursued his academic journey at Western Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology, complemented by a minor in broadcast journalism. During his time at WKU, he was an integral part of the Storm Team and contributed to the award-winning student newscast, “NewsChannel 12.”

His career as a meteorologist kicked off as a freelance meteorologist at WTVQ-TV in Lexington right after graduation. A few months later, he joined KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, Ark., as a weekend meteorologist in November 2008. After honing his skills with the Region 8 Storm Team, he took on the role of Weekend Meteorologist at WTVM-TV in Columbus, Ga., in July 2011. Subsequently, he returned to KAIT-TV as the morning/midday meteorologist in 2013, until he found his way back home to Kentucky and joined WAVE in October 2018.

Throughout his career, Justin has gained valuable experience in covering and forecasting various weather phenomena, ranging from winter storms to tornadoes and even tropical systems. Among all weather conditions, snow holds a special place in his heart—BOTS!

Beyond the weather center, Justin actively engages with his church community, passionately follows and supports his beloved Kentucky Wildcats (while hoping Cardinal fans won’t disown him), enjoys watching his favorite TV shows, and cherishes quality time spent with friends and family.

If you happen to encounter him around town, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself. Justin warmly welcomes any weather-related questions via email at jlogan@wave3.com. He is delighted to be back home in Kentucky and can be seen sharing his forecasts on Weekend Sunrise, WAVE 3 News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sundays, and WAVE 3 News Midday on Mondays. With his dedication and enthusiasm, Justin Logan continues to serve the Kentucky community with reliable weather updates and a genuine passion for his craft.
