Karen Kilgariff is an American writer, singer, comedian, actor, television producer, and podcast host. She is best known for hosting ‘My Favorite Murder’, a crime podcast, with Georgia Hardstark. She also featured in series 2 of The Book Group as Jean Pettengill.

Karen’s mom, Patricia Kilgariff nee Knight, died on 9th January 2016 after 12 year battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. She was a nurse by profession specializing in the mental health having graduated from Providence Nursing School of Oakland in 1962.

She became the head nurse at Hillcrest Psychiatric Hospital in Santa Rosa in 1978. She was an advocate for public mental health services. She is a former nurse adviser at Kaiser Petaluma having retired in 2000.

Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark are the hosts of a podcast ‘My Favorite Murder’ which is a weekly true crime comedy where they discuss various infamous murders and serial killers. Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark started the true crime podcast My Favorite Murder in January 2016, and since its inception it has garnered a large fan base, ranking number one on the iTunes comedy podcast list in May 2016.
