In May of 2017, Katie Orth joined the dynamic news team at KMID/KPEJ as the evening news anchor for Big 2 News. Together with Eddie Flores, she delivers the latest updates during the 5, 6, and 10pm newscasts from Monday to Friday.
Katie proudly hails from Texas, originally born in Austin before her family settled in Sugar Land, where she spent her formative years. Her academic journey led her to Texas A&M University, where she pursued her passion for Communications and Journalism, earning her degree.
During her time in college, Katie kickstarted her career in the broadcasting industry as a sports multimedia journalist at KAGS in College Station. The experience solidified her commitment to the field of broadcasting, and she knew she had found her true calling.
After graduation, Katie enthusiastically embraced her dream and ventured into the world of broadcasting. She made her mark as a sports and news anchor at KIDY Fox News First in San Angelo.
The next thrilling chapter in her career led her to Midland, where she was thrilled to become part of the KMID/KPEJ team. As a dedicated evening news anchor, Katie continues to showcase her talent and passion for delivering impactful news to the community.
Her Texas roots and genuine enthusiasm for broadcasting have propelled Katie Orth to excel in her profession, earning her a cherished place within the KMID/KPEJ news team.
