Recently, Katie worked in New Orleans, LA, where she held the role of weekend morning anchor and weekday morning reporter. During her time there, she covered various weather events, including hurricanes, tropical storms, massive flooding, and even a rare snowfall. Weather has always fascinated her, and she takes great pleasure in forecasting for the state of Minnesota.
Prior to New Orleans, Katie gained diverse experience in Spokane, WA, where she started as a general assignment reporter, later transitioning to mornings, and eventually becoming the weekend weathercaster. Her journey into on-air reporting began at KOMU-TV, where she worked for four years while attending the University of Missouri.
Mornings hold a special place in Katie’s heart, as she is passionate about providing viewers with essential information early in the day, ensuring they are well-prepared for whatever lies ahead.
Outside of work, Katie leads an active lifestyle and actively participates in her community. When not reporting, you might find her engaged in various sports like tennis, volleyball, swimming, and water skiing (she’s ready to spot for anyone with a course!).
She also enjoys snow skiing and cross-country skiing, along with pursuing her hobbies of quilting and watching sports. Spending quality time with family is another top priority for her. Moreover, she is deeply involved in her local church and shares her beautiful voice during Saturday night masses.
