Katina Arnold holds the position of Vice President, Corporate Communications at ESPN. In this role, she is responsible for managing communications related to ESPN’s business initiatives. This includes overseeing communications for various areas such as affiliate sales and marketing, national advertising sales, research, ESPN Deportes, and the international division, which comprises 26 television networks and multiple platforms worldwide.
Arnold also manages communications for ESPN’s digital media assets, which encompass ESPN.com, WatchESPN, ESPN3, ESPN Mobile, and multiple websites across the globe.
In addition to her broad responsibilities, Arnold supervises internal communications within the company. She also oversees ESPN Images, the corporate photography and multimedia team. To enhance employee engagement and keep staff informed, Arnold played a pivotal role in launching the company’s intranet site called “In The Know” (ITK) in June 2008.
The site provides timely information about company developments and achievements. Furthermore, Arnold’s team provides guidance on internal messaging to the executive council and finds innovative ways to facilitate the dissemination of information. The multimedia group, under her leadership, caters to the corporate video and presentation needs of the entire organization.
Arnold joined ESPN in January 2002, initially serving as the Director of Affiliate and Corporate Communications. In that position, she handled all communications related to affiliate sales, marketing initiatives, cable industry media relations, and other corporate communication projects. She was subsequently promoted to Vice President, Affiliate and International Communications in 2005.
Before her tenure at ESPN, Arnold held the position of Director of Media Relations for High Speed Access Corp. (HSA), a broadband company based in Littleton, Colorado. Prior to that, she worked as the Media Relations Manager for AT&T Broadband (formerly Tele-Communications, Inc.) in Englewood, Colorado. Arnold began her career as a sales and marketing specialist for TCI Media Services in Madison, Wisconsin.
Arnold’s contributions and achievements have garnered recognition within the industry. She was named a Top Woman in PR by PR News and was recognized as one of CableFax magazine’s top 30 “Women on the Move” in the cable industry.
In addition, she was a finalist for PR Executive of the Year. CableFax magazine also honored her as an influential executive in cable. Arnold was selected as a Betsy Magness Fellow in Women and Cable and Telecommunications’ Class XI. She has served as Co-Chair of the FORUM, the Association of Cable Communicators’ annual conference, and actively participates in organizations such as WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications).
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Arnold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
