Kayla Braud joined ESPN as a college softball analyst in the spring of 2014. She brought her expertise to ESPN’s coverage of regular and postseason softball as a color commentator and studio analyst.
In addition to her role at ESPN, Braud became a part of the original cast of “Rally Cap” on SEC Network. She joined host Dari Nowkhah and analyst David Dellucci in the clubhouse, where they provided insightful analysis and breakdowns of each week of the SEC softball and baseball season. However, in the 2019-20 season, Braud made a transition from the studio to the booth, taking on the role of an in-game analyst for SEC regular and postseason action on SEC Network.
Braud’s deep connection with softball is evident, as she had previously achieved remarkable success on the softball diamond. She was a member of the University of Alabama’s team that secured the Women’s College World Series championship in 2012.
During her time with the Alabama Crimson Tide, she earned the prestigious distinction of being a three-time All-American from 2011 to 2013. Braud’s remarkable achievements both on and off the field were recognized when she received the 2013 Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes NCAA Division I senior student-athletes who excel in the areas of community involvement, academics, character, and competition.
