Keith Boag Biography and Career

Keith Boag has been an integral part of CBC’s news team for over 30 years, holding various key roles throughout his career. Currently based in CBC’s Washington Bureau since 2012, he serves as a correspondent, providing reports for radio, television, and cbc.ca.

Prior to his assignment in Washington, Boag served as CBC News’ correspondent in Los Angeles from 2009, where he covered news and events in the US southwest and Mexico.

Throughout his illustrious career, Boag was primarily based in Ottawa, where he held significant positions such as current affairs political reporter, Ottawa Bureau Chief, and Chief Political Correspondent. During this time, he garnered extensive experience covering seven federal elections, ten party leadership campaigns, several US elections, and a memorable Olympics.

Boag’s international reporting experience also includes being CBC News’ South Africa Correspondent.

His academic background includes studying History and Economics at the University of New Brunswick and McGill, and Journalism at Carleton University. Keith Boag’s wealth of experience and dedication have made him a valuable asset to CBC’s news reporting team.
