Kelci O’Donnell became an integral part of the WNCT news team in June of 2019, taking on the role of Digital Sports Reporter/Content Producer.
Originally from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Kelci’s life has revolved around sports from an early age.
Her journey led her to Virginia Tech, where she spent four years in Blacksburg, Virginia. During her time at the university, Kelci was a standout athlete, playing for the Hokies DI Women’s Lacrosse team. As a four-year letterman, she also had the honor of captaining the team during her senior season.
Kelci’s involvement extended beyond the field as she actively participated in the Athletic Leadership Program, collaborating with athletic staff, and served as a Love Your Melon Campus Representative, raising awareness for pediatric oncology patients. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of the Women in Sports Media Organization at Virginia Tech.
Despite her rigorous academic and athletic commitments, Kelci found time to showcase her passion for sports media. She worked as a Color Commentator for ESPN Radio Blacksburg, further developing her skills in sports broadcasting.
In May of 2019, Kelci proudly graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in Sports Media/Analytics. Her dedication to the field was further evident through her internship with Fox 29, Good Day Philadelphia during the Summer of 2018.
