Kevaney Martin hails from Oil City, a charming small town located about 90 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was in this close-knit community that her passion for sports, particularly basketball, first took root.
Her basketball prowess earned her a full scholarship to Monmouth University, where she intended to pursue her athletic dreams. However, fate had a different plan, and after enduring six knee surgeries during her collegiate career, Kevaney recognized the need to transition from player to broadcaster.
Armed with a communications major with a concentration in journalism, Kevaney embarked on her broadcasting journey in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, serving as a sports reporter for KFSY. Additionally, she freelanced for Midco SportsNet, where she showcased her talents as a sideline reporter and color commentator.
Her career path then led her to the vibrant Bay Area of California, where she worked as an anchor and reporter for the high school sports show “Cal Hi Sports Bay Area” aired on CSN California.
After her experiences in the Midwest and the West Coast, Kevaney’s journey brought her back to the East Coast, settling in Roanoke, Virginia. There, she served as a sports anchor and reporter for WFXR, covering a diverse range of sports, from ACC football and basketball to NASCAR, PGA, and NFL events, including Super Bowl LI.
