Born and raised on a farm in Corvallis, Montana, Kevin’s roots are deeply connected to the beautiful landscapes of his hometown. After graduating from Corvallis High School, he pursued his passion for journalism, earning a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Montana in 1978. His thirst for knowledge and growth led him to further his education with a B.A. in Radio-TV from the same university in 1981.

Kevin’s career in journalism began to blossom when he joined KPAX-TV in Missoula, where he served as a proficient general assignment reporter and anchor from 1981 to 1989. Seeking new horizons, he then ventured to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to work as a general assignment reporter at KOAA-TV.

However, his heart never strayed too far from his beloved Montana. In 2000, Kevin returned to his roots and reported for Montana Public Radio, making his mark as an exceptional storyteller. Finally, in a remarkable turn of events, he found his way back to Montana’s NBC Montana, where he currently holds his esteemed position.

With his extensive background, passion for journalism, and deep connection to his community, Kevin Maki remains an invaluable asset to the KECI-TV team, delivering important news and engaging stories to viewers with unwavering dedication and professionalism.
