Kevin’s journey into journalism began unexpectedly during high school when he found himself in a journalism class by chance. However, it didn’t take long for him to realize that journalism was his true calling, and he soon became the editor of his school’s paper. Pursuing his passion, he attended Metropolitan State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Throughout his career, Kevin traversed Colorado, making significant contributions to various publications, including the Fort Morgan Times, Fort Collins Coloradoan, and the Rocky Mountain News. At the Rocky, he covered some of the state’s most impactful stories, from the heart-wrenching tragedy at Columbine High to the Colorado Rockies’ thrilling run to the World Series.
Following the closure of the Rocky, Kevin found new avenues in television, first at Rocky Mountain PBS and later at FOX Sports 1. As an investigative reporter at FOX Sports 1, he embarked on an adventurous journey, covering diverse stories nationwide, from high-profile legal cases to sports sagas.
Over the years, Kevin’s remarkable work earned him numerous accolades and recognitions, including being a Pulitzer Prize finalist for his compelling series “The Crossing” at the Rocky Mountain News. Additionally, he co-authored the acclaimed book “The Ledge: An Inspirational Story of Friendship and Survival,” recounting a gripping mountain climbing accident, which became a New York Times bestseller.
As a 9Wants To Know reporter, Kevin thrives on conducting in-depth, data-driven investigations, uncovering public corruption, and shedding light on systemic flaws that impact real people.
