Natasha Chen, an American journalist hailing from San Francisco, is currently serving as a National Correspondent for CNN. Since May of 2019, she has been based at the network’s global headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to this role, she worked as a national correspondent for CNN in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area from September 2017 to May 2019.
Before joining CNN, Natasha Chen held the position of a general assignment correspondent at KIRO 7 News in Seattle. Her career in the media industry began as a reporter and weekend anchor at KXXV-TV in Killen, Texas. During her time there, she covered significant breaking news events, including the 2009 Fort Hood mass massacre. Following her tenure at KXXV-TV, she moved on to work at WREG-TV in Memphis, where she covered a range of topics, including education, crime, politics, and wealth inequality, in addition to breaking news stories.
Natasha Chen’s contributions to journalism have been recognized with prestigious awards. She received the 2015 Northwest Emmy Award for team coverage and the 2008 Simon T. Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for her outstanding reporting. As a member of the Asian American Journalists Association, she brings a unique perspective to her work. Natasha Chen is also fluent in Mandarin, which allows her to communicate effectively in Chinese.
