AdminNick King joined Arizona’s Family as a sports reporter and anchor in September 2019, bringing his passion for sports to Phoenix. Prior to his time in Arizona, he gained experience working at television stations in California, Missouri, and Virginia. Nick is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
From a young age, Nick’s love for sports and announcing games with his brothers fueled his desire to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. Over the years, he has discovered that whether covering high school, college, or professional sports, the excitement and fulfillment of the job never fade. Nick has found particular joy in telling the stories of individuals who may otherwise go unnoticed, creating unforgettable moments that touch people’s hearts.
Nick’s dedication and talent in sports reporting have been recognized with accolades, including an Emmy for Sports Anchoring and Reporting. He has also received two Emmys for stories that left a lasting impact. “The Seated Golfer” showcased the inspiring journey of a Valley veteran who found solace and purpose on the golf course despite a wartime injury, and “100 Mile Runner” highlighted the remarkable feat of a 19-year-old with autism running a 100-mile race. Nick has taken pleasure in shedding light on other memorable stories, such as the resilient basketball community in Whiteriver, Arizona, coming together during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the extraordinary support shown by the Perry High School football team for their freshman team manager diagnosed with MPS, a rare genetic disorder.
When he’s not immersed in sports or searching for captivating narratives, Nick enjoys engaging in various activities. Basketball, golf, trail running, hiking, and exploring the diverse landscapes of the Grand Canyon State through road trips are among his favorite pastimes. He also finds relaxation in nature photography, reading, and cooking. Above all, Nick is grateful to call the Valley of the Sun his home, a place where he can pursue his passions year-round and create meaningful connections within the community.
