Chambers is a prominent American journalist who currently holds the positions of Senior Vice President of Content and Executive Editor at Lonely Planet, starting in October 2021.
Prior to joining Lonely Planet, Chambers served as the Vice President of Content Experience for CNN Digital from June 2019 to September 2021. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing product discovery and content strategy for CNN Digital’s new ventures and emerging product portfolio.

Previously, Chambers led CNN Digital’s Content Development team for three years, effectively integrating content, product, and commercial strategies to achieve business objectives through franchises and editorial products. Her exceptional work on Explore Parts Unknown, Anthony Bourdain’s digital companion to Parts Unknown, earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018.
Before joining CNN, Chambers served as the Director of Content Strategy at Threespot, a full-service digital agency based in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing digital strategy for clients such as the National Park Service, PBS Newshour, Poynter Institute, National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the National Portrait Gallery.
With almost a decade of experience at ABC News, Chambers held various positions within both the broadcast and digital teams. She led special projects across the ABC News Digital portfolio and played a crucial role in the editorial product development for the Yahoo!-ABC News strategic partnership. Chambers also contributed to the coverage of significant news events like the Royal Wedding, Arab Spring, President Obama’s Inauguration, and the 2008 and 2010 presidential elections. She was instrumental in the development of the team’s content management system.
Chambers joined ABC News as a researcher and production assistant in the Nightline newsroom and quickly became an integral part of the team. She covered the 2008 presidential election for ABC News Digital and was involved in shaping the tools, templates, and workflows that defined the network’s digital coverage.
Chambers takes pride in her educational background, having obtained degrees from Boston University and Carnegie Mellon.
