Olivia Fierro, an Emmy Award-winning news anchor, is well-known for waking up Arizona viewers daily on the popular show “Good Morning Arizona.” She joined 3TV as a news reporter in 2003, marking her second on-camera job following her work in Amarillo, Texas.

From 2009 to 2015, Olivia made Las Vegas her home while anchoring evening newscasts at Fox5Vegas. However, her journey in the news industry began behind the scenes at “Good Day LA,” where she discovered her passion for the fast-paced nature of the business. As she transitioned from a student intern to a full-time newsroom employee, she found a sense of belonging among the curious and talkative individuals who shared her love for the industry.
Olivia holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in history and women’s studies (now gender studies) from the University of California, Los Angeles. After graduating, she pursued her interest in broadcast journalism through UCLA’s Extension Program.
With a lifelong love for reading, Olivia embarked on a unique work project with the launch of Olivia’s Book Club in January 2019. Recognizing the opportunity to expand the brand further, she started a weekly podcast in 2021, where she interviews bestselling authors about their books and personal stories. Additionally, she actively engages with the book community by hosting events for Changing Hands Bookstore, both in person and online.
Emphasizing the value of local news in fostering connections and strengthening communities, Olivia dedicates her time as a volunteer or event host for various local nonprofits. She is closely involved with organizations such as Chicanos por la Causa, March of Dimes, Dress for Success, Valley of the Sun United Way, and Girls On the Run.
Throughout her career, Olivia has had the privilege of interviewing influential individuals ranging from politicians like Governors Ducey, Brewer, Napolitano, U.S. senators, local mayors, and even President Joe Biden, to notable athletes such as Larry Fitzgerald, Diana Taurasi, and Michelle Kwan. She has also engaged with actors, authors, and musicians, cherishing the diverse range of people she has met.
Above all, Olivia’s favorite aspect of her career with Arizona’s Family is the opportunity to keep the community informed, empowered, and occasionally entertained. In her personal life, she enjoys activities like yoga, exploring new restaurants, and cheering on her son as he participates in sports. Olivia shares her life with her husband, son, and their beloved goldendoodle.
