Previously, Struyk served as a data reporter and mobile producer for the CNN Politics digital team. In this role, he authored data-driven articles covering various political topics, contributed to the development of the CNN Politics mobile app, and played a vital role in drafting and analyzing CNN’s public opinion polling.

Struyk’s passion for political journalism took root during his tenure as a political reporter-researcher at ABC News in Washington, where he extensively covered public opinion polling, campaign finance, and the delegate process during the 2016 presidential election. Before that, he gained experience covering the Idaho state legislature as an Associated Press reporter in Boise. Additionally, Struyk worked as a research associate for Langer Research Associates in New York City, where he conducted the ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Struyk completed his education at Calvin College in 2014, earning degrees in political science and mathematics. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds joy in discussing music theory, inferential statistics, and his beloved Detroit Tigers.
