Sarah Simmons is an American journalist, Anchor and reporter Currently active with FOX 5 since 2006, working there as a reporter and an anchor for FOX 5 Morning News and Good Day D.C. for seven years.

Sarah Simmons Biography and Career Life

Previously, she served as a morning news anchor from NBC33 WKJG-TV from 1999 to 2001. She worked her way up as a weekend anchor/reporter at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska in 2001. She worked there for four years leaving the network in December 2005.

Simmons studied at Western Illinois University. A series of hands-on internships and a Masters degree at the University of Illinois at Springfield in Public Affairs Reporting set her on the path to her first job.

The television broadcasting bug bit her while she was studying at Western Illinois University. That was followed by a weekend anchor/reporter job in Omaha, Nebraska before she landed in Washington D.C.

She started work at FOX 5 since January 2006 and worn many hats during my time here. You may know her best from her seven years reporting and anchoring for FOX 5 Morning News and Good Day DC. She brought the breaking news needed to know throughout the morning hours.

From floods to news in your neighborhood,  she covered it all. During that time, she had the privilege of watching history unfold, covering the 2008 and 2014 Inaugurations of the first African-American Commander-in-Chief, President Barack Obama.

Alas, her 2 a.m. wake-up call came to an end. You can now find her well-rested, anchoring the 5 p.m. news and reporting for Fox 5 News at 10 and 11 p.m.
