Throughout her career at CNN, Sonia has played a vital role in reporting on some of the most significant domestic events in the country. As a field producer, she has been on the front lines covering major stories such as the Pulse nightclub shooting, the tragic killing of Dallas law enforcement officers, the passing of Prince, and the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson.
She has also dedicated her efforts to shedding light on the ongoing opioid crisis, conducting interviews with individuals affected by addiction as well as those fighting against the devastating impact of these drugs. Additionally, she contributed her reporting skills to CNN Newsource during the arrival of Hurricane Harvey, providing on-the-ground coverage as the storm wreaked havoc in her home state of Texas.
