Steve Pool is an American principal weather anchor for KOMO-TV in Seattle. Pool started as an intern while still studying at the University of Washington. After graduating in 1978 he became a writer, reporter and eventually a weathercaster. He was born on 5th November 1953.

Steve Pool Biography and Career Life

In the 1980s he began hosting a program on KOMO-TV titled Front Runners which aired on Saturdays. Pool has received eight Emmy Awards during his career and has made more than 70 appearances on Good Morning America. Additionally, he is the author of a book about weather and its forecasting, titled Somewhere, I Was Right. In 2004, he was inducted in University of Washington Department of Communications Hall of Fame.

KOMO announced that their weathercaster Steve is receiving treatment for prostate cancer which he had been diagnosed by in September.

Pool was diagnosed with prostate cancer several months ago. He has taken the next couple of months of from the news station so as to deal with his treatment. Steve found it quite difficult to share it with his two girls and his wife after a marriage of 24 years.

Pool started his treatment at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Proton Therapy Centre. He goes every day at to a procedure at a facility up in Northgate. This has brought him and his family even closer together as his daughters now help on many ways.
