Stu Grimson, a respected veteran of 14 NHL seasons, brings his wealth of experience to NHL Network as an esteemed analyst, appearing on various studio programs, including the flagship show NHL Tonight.
Having attended the University of Manitoba, Grimson showcased his skills over 771 NHL games, including an impressive 42 playoff appearances with the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and Los Angeles Kings.
Drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 7th round of the 1985 NHL Draft, the native of Kamloops, British Columbia, began his professional career with the Flames before making stops with the Blackhawks, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Red Wings, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, and eventually returning to the Ducks. He concluded his illustrious career with the Kings and Nashville Predators.
After hanging up his skates, Grimson pursued a law degree at the University of Memphis, demonstrating his commitment to continuous growth. He then served as in-house counsel to the NHL Players’ Association from 2006 to 2008, further immersing himself in the hockey world.
Grimson’s passion for the game led him to a role as a color analyst on the Predators’ radio network for six seasons (2008-2014). Subsequently, he joined FOX Sports Tennessee’s Predators coverage from 2014 to 2017, providing insightful commentary to fans.
