Soon, she switched to News Radio WIOD where she did reporting and anchoring for 6:10 AM show but then returned to CBS4 News in the capacity of a Traffic Reporter. She does the reporting for the morning CBS4 show named ‘This Morning’. She is employed there till date. In late 2016, she became the news anchor for the Saturday and Sunday evening news airing at 11 PM. She also was handed charge of reporting 3 times a week for CBS4 News.
In addition to her daytime job at WFOR-TV Vanessa sometimes contributes a writer for Directions Magazine. It is the first free bi-monthly magazine in South Florida with an objective of helping parents who have children with special needs (mental or physical disabilities)
