Warren Buffett is an American Business person, investor, speaker and philanthropist who serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is known to be the most successful investor in the world. Warren Buffet was born and brought up in a place called Omaha, Nebraska. When he was a youth Warren Buffet developed an interest in business and investing. Before transferring and graduating from the University of Nebraska at the age of 19 he had joined Warthon School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947.

Warren was rejected by Harvard Business School and enrolled at Columbia Business School of Columbia University he attained a Master of Science in Economics from Columbia in 1951 and after he graduated he decided to join The New York Institute of Finance.

Warren started to work in 1951 at Buffet-Falk and Co. as an investment salesman up to year 1956.He also worked from 1954 to 1956 at Graham-Newman corp as a securities analytist ; in 1956 to 1969 he worked at Buffet Partnership, Limited as general partner, he started working as Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway inc. in 1970.
Warren Buffet operated three partnership in 1956, in 1959 the total number of partnership Warren was operating were five, the company later grew to six partnership and by 1960 he was operating seven partnership.
Warren used one of his partner who was a doctor to find ten other doctors who were willing to invest $10,000 each in partnership and eleven agreed and Warren pooled their money with a mere $ 100 original investment of his own.
Warren did not stop creating partnership, in 1961 he revealed that 35% of the partnership were invested in the Sanborn Map Company. He said that in 1958 Sanborn stock sold for only $ 45 per share but the investment portfolio for the company was worth $ 65 peer share which meant that Sanborn’s map business was being valued at “minus$ 20.”Warren Buffet ended up purchasing 23% of the company’s outstanding shares as an activist investor,where he became one of the Board of Directors and joined other dissatisfied shareholders to control 44% of the shares.
To avoid unnecessary fight, the Board offered to repurchase shares at fair value where they paid with a portion of its investment portfolio. The 77% outstanding shares were turned in. In just two years Warren Buffett had obtained a 50% return on investment.
