Zain Asher is an anchor for CNN International based in New York. Currently, she holds the anchor position for the weekend edition of CNN Newsroom and frequently fills in on CNN’s prominent business programs, including Quest Means Business, The Express, and First Move with Julia Chatterley.

In addition to her anchor role, Asher is the host of Marketplace Africa, a weekly business show on CNNI that focuses on the continent’s role within global markets. Through the program, she conducts interviews with CEOs and world leaders, shedding light on Africa’s business landscape.

Asher has led CNN’s special coverage for significant events like #MyFreedomDay, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of modern-day slavery. She has also anchored coverage of the passings of notable figures such as Fidel Castro, Muhammad Ali, and George Michael.
